Congratulations and well done to Becky, Ellie, Harry and Matthew for becoming County Cooking Champions on Sunday 29th January. Not only did they win the county competition, the judges from Fermoys were so impressed with the soup starter from Liverton that they want to sell it for a week in their restaurant with all profits to the Group!
In addition, the top two teams will have an afternoon with the Head Chef at Fermoys to give them some more cooking tips
Also well done to Ashley, Harvey, Stan and Ted for their 4th place.
Welcome to 2012! Thank you to everyone who helped at Liverton Post Office – the carol singing and hot chocolate raised over £130 for Shelterbox!
The Group will be carol singing outside Liverton Post Office at 10am on Saturday 17 December. Do come along and enjoy some warm drinks and mince pies!
Thank you to everyone who supported the Quiz Night – in the end we had 11 tables with a very closely scoring competition. At the end of the night we had raised just under £300 from the Quiz, Bar and Raffle.
Congratulations to the 8 Scouts from 1st Liverton who won 1st and 2nd place in the District Scout cooking competition, both teams will now go on to the County round in January – photo in the gallery, log in to see it.
Tomorrow we have our Remembrance Day parade and service at the Liverton Football Ground. Looking forward to another good turnout at 3pm.
Don’t forget the Quiz Night on 26 November – tables are available at £5 per table of 4. Please do try and sell your raffle tickets as we are trying to raise funds to purchase a trailer to be able to transport our equipment.
The Scout Camp at Rora was very successful – see the write up in the latest Mid Devon Advertiser – and yes the weather was fine!
The Fund-Raising Team are also planning their Quiz Night which will be held on Sat 26 Nov at Liverton Village Hall – hope to see you there.
Welcome back after the summer break! Everyone is fully refreshed and we are back into the activities. Already this month the Beavers have had a day at Heatree House (getting wet & muddy), Cubs have been on a weekend PGL camp in North Devon (getting wet & muddy) and the Scouts have a camp planned in October and are hoping for a fine day!
We currently have a long waiting list for members wishing to join the Beavers – if you would like your son/daughter to join the Group we would recommend that you make contact with us as soon as possible. Do not wait until they are 6 as you may be disappointed!
We have a shortage of Leaders in all our Sections and we are getting desperate for some more assistance. If you are interested please contact us via the links on the website or come along to our meeting and have a chat. You do not necessarily have to commit to attending each week – flexible volunteering is encouraged.
